Brewing potions takes at least 20 minutes of in character time, in which you can brew 4 potions of any combination of recipes that you know and will be required to watch your brew and tend it. For every 5 minutes additional time spent brewing potions you may make an extra potion (e.g. you spend 30 minutes brewing potions and create 6 potions). Each potion has a specific recipe which will be provided to you when you purchase that potion recipe. Some recipes require fire to boil, please be very careful and use common sense when making these potions.
To be able to brew potions you need the Apothecary skill and an Apothecary Kit. Please note that you will need to bring your own mortar and pestle and other tools for potion making to represent the kit.
Potions work as soon as you drink one but you may only drink one potion every thirty minutes.

Potion of Curing

The potion will cure one hit point of damage and another every five minutes thereafter for 30 minutes. You cannot go over your max hit points in this way.

Potion of Toughness

This potion gives you an extra one hit point. It is lost and healed as a normal hit point. After the hour you lose one hit point so if you are uninjured you return to your starting HP’s, if you are injured you lose an extra HP.

Potion of Galvanising

Either after five minutes this potion will make you immune to being paralysed, or will remove the effects of being paralyzed. 

Potion of Calm

This potion once consumed, instantly calms a person. This is useful when you are entering a delicate situation where you need to keep your cool, or for people in great distress.

Potion of Sleep

After five minutes this potion will cause someone to sleep for an hour, they can be woken but they have to be shaken awake, and until the hour has passed will continue to fall to sleep at five minute intervals.

Potion of Anti Poison

If a character is stricken by poison, then after 5 minutes this potion will counteract the ongoing effects. It will not however heal any of the damage and if another potion is drunk within the hour the recipient is sick and any damage will begin again.

Complex Potions

These potions are far more advanced than your simple brewers concoctions. You must be an adept brewer to be able to even understand the recipes to make these potions, and the recipes don't come cheap either.

Complex Potion of Improved Curing

The potion will cure two hit points of damage and another every one minute thereafter for 5 minutes. You cannot go over your max hit points in this way.

Complex Potion of Independence

This potion makes the drinker immune to charm and mind affecting powers for the next 30 minutes.

Complex Potion of Might

After drinking this potion the users muscles surge granting them Might Strike for 5 minutes.

Complex Potion of Ether

The drinker of this potion will be instantly moved to the astral plane for up to 30 minutes. The minimum travel time in the astral plane is 5 minutes but the traveller may leave the astral plane any point after these 5 minutes. Remember to bring a blue head band and glow stick for this potion.

Complex Potion of Life

This potion, when made contains the effective life force of one person, it involves killing someone to store their life force and is intended for an Ovidian to use during Resilience of Creation. If used by an non Ovidian please see a GM. 

Other Potions

There are rumours of many more potion recipes that are closely kept secrets, perhaps some of these will be found in game. Potions that cause people to reveal secrets under the right circumstances, potions that if unchecked can cause slow painful deaths and even elixirs that can bring people back from death, all be it only for a short while, amongst many others. Some examples are:

Potion of Opening

When drunk the option allows the drinker control of any gate so they can travel to other gates on Teonn.

Potion of Blood

An ancient potion only drinkable by Ovidians as it is composed of blood and other races vomit up the liquid immediately. A sense of dread eminates from the drinker allowing them to use the Fear call.

Potion of the [Realms]

When learned you learn the travelling potion for a single realm.
